Ending the Criminalization of Homelessness
Each year, we prioritize one advocacy issue as part of the Week’s message. This year, that issue is the criminalization of homelessness. Many cities have passed laws making it illegal for the homeless to sit, stand, sleep, or eat in public spaces. In some, it’s also illegal to distribute food to hungry individuals on the street. If your city has passed similar laws, take a little time during your Week to speak out.
